"Attending Bishop Keough High School encouraged me to develop a sense of community, to realize and uphold a Christian value system and to appreciate the empowerment of a single-sex institution. The education gained and friendships developed at Keough have helped shape my life and continue to enrich me"
-Mary Ann Welch, class of 1973 Director of Program Admissions RI Higher Education Assistance Authority

Bishop Keough has a living faith that personifies the love of Christ. As a school, we involve families, students, faculty and administration into a close knit community whose goal is both educational and spiritual. Teachers have an attitude of concern and caring for their students that extends far beyond the classroom. Teachers attend to the needs of the students, while encouraging them to grow in knowledge, responsibility and faith.

As a community built on faith, it is our hope that students will embrace the values exemplified by Jesus Christ, the Saints and the Church. Religion classes are required of students in all four grade levels, but these alone are not enough to infuse students with the values by which we hope they live. It is for this reason that faith development is a part of every aspect of the school.

  • The importance of prayer is role modeled for students through prayer services, and prayers at the beginning of the day (in homeroom) and at the beginning of each class.

  • Liturgical services are held throughout the year in celebration of the holy days.

  • Students participate in activities that support the values held by the school. For example the school helps local soup kitchens, shelter programs, the food bank, and various non-profit foundations throughout the school year.
