Bishop Keough Regional High School is a senior high school located in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, which educates young ladies in grades 9 through 12. It is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and the Rhode Island Department of Education. Incorporated in 1971, Bishop Keough provides a quality education for young
ladies from Pawtucket, Lincoln, North Providence, Cumberland, Smithfield, Woonsocket, Greenville,
Johnston, Cranston, Central Falls, East Providence, Providence, and other outlying areas. ![]() The school is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of twelve members, which includes a chairperson and the principal of the school, who is a non-voting member of this Board. The faculty of the school includes both religious and lay men and women. Bishop Keough offers a college preparatory program in a Christian environment with a strong emphasis on educating the entire person. To instill in our students the importance of interacting with the community, each senior is required to complete one semester of community service to fulfill the requirements for graduation. In addition to academics a wide variety of extra-curricular activities are offered. Some of these activities include Drama Club, Foreign Language Club, Keough newspaper, Model Legislature, Student Council, Students Against Drunk Driving, and Yearbook. The school is a member of the Rhode Island Interscholastic League for tennis, soccer, basketball, and softball.
Each student is encouraged to develop her talents and be inspired by faculty, staff, and fellow students to find the best within herself. Bishop Keough still maintains its founders’ intent to educate young women in a small, single-sex learning environment. ACCREDITATION: (http://www.neasc.org) Bishop Keough Regional High School, after having completed a rigorous self-study, received accreditation from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. |
